NEW YORK – (March 12, 2014) – Al Jazeera America, the new U.S. cable news channel that provides both domestic and international news for American audiences, today unveiled its Mobile App for both iOS and Android devices.
Al Jazeera America users will find a curated collection of the most important stories of the day from Al Jazeera America online, including top stories, original features, and opinion content from contributors including award-winning writers David Cay Johnston and Jill Lawrence. Full articles and related content are provided in a visually rich, easy-to-read format. A “Behind the Story” feature allows people to understand the context of the news and why it is important, and “Breaking News” notifications keep users informed throughout the day. In addition, the Al Jazeera America Mobile App offers a continuous listening feature in Audio mode, in which articles are read aloud in a daily playlist for ease-of-use during commutes.

Also featured on the app is Al Jazeera America’s broadcast schedule, Channel Finder and the ability for users to request the Al Jazeera America Television Channel for inclusion on their local provider network. Integration with email, Twitter and Facebook allows for social sharing.
