Ahead of Veterans Day, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio launched a new 'patriotic' initiative last week that displays a sticker of the American flag in each prison cell with the caveat that anyone who vandalizes it will be denied proper meals. Arpaio has stated that ten inmates are currently being punished with a restricted diet of bread and water for the violation. The sheriff, pictured below, has implemented the policy in the following Maricopa jails: Fourth Avenue Jail, Durango Jail, Estrella Jail, Lower Buckeye Jail, Tent City Jail, Central Intake and Towers Jail.
