Talking big trouble in 'Little Egypt'

Egyptian New Yorkers share their opinions on how to end six weeks of deadly turmoil in their home country

'We all belong to one nation'

Emotions ran high Wednesday among residents in the "Little Egypt" neighborhood of Queens, NY, as a six-week standoff between supporters and opponents of deposed President Mohamed Morsi culminated in deadly violence on the streets of Cairo.

Residents, many of whom are immigrants and may still have family in Egypt, spoke to Al Jazeera and expressed impassioned opinions about the turmoil that gripped their home country. They all said they hope the bloodshed will end regardless of political standing.

What they didn't agree on was how the crisis should end or who is to blame for the country's crippling and polarizing crisis.

Above are the opinions of six Egyptians we met on the streets of Queens, the most ethnically diverse urban area in the world.
