Palestinian protesters in Al-Bireh: 'We're born into a prison'

AJ+ travels to the West Bank city of Al-Bireh to ask Palestinian youths about Israel's military occupation

Just as in other cities across the Palestinian territories, protesters in the West Bank city of Al-Bireh are clashing with Israeli forces over Israel’s decades-long military occupation of Palestinian lands, which youths say controls and restricts nearly every aspect of their lives.

AJ+ traveled to Al-Bireh to speak with some of the Palestinian protesters, who threw stones at Israeli forces and were met with tear gas, rubber-coated steel bullets and live ammunition.

When asked what Palestinians are resisting, one protester answered: "From the day I was born, I had no future. We’re born into a prison."
