Ahmed Deeb, a Palestinian freelance photographer from Gaza, is one of the few journalists still actively documenting and reporting from the front lines of Syria’s deadly five-year-long civil war.
Although the images he captures have been seen all over the world, he says that news agencies do not treat him fairly and pay him very little for his work. In fact, he cannot even afford protective gear to shield him from the many dangers he faces.
Nevertheless, Deeb says he will continue documenting the war, as he feels a strong connection to the people of Syria and wants to tell their stories.
