She wanted to be a businesswoman when she was a child and studied until she was 20. Faadumo will finish school in 2017 and hopes to be a doctor when she grows up. As a child she wanted to work on the special effects of movies or as a stuntwoman. Lily plans to stay in school until she is about 20. She would really like to become a hairdresser.

La Paz, Bolivia Lucia Mayta, 43, and her daughter Luz Cecilia, 12, inside their bodega. Lucia studied until the fourth grade, and knows how to read and write and do basic math. Lucia runs a bodega, and her family lives in a back room. Luz Cecilia is in seventh grade and wants to be a singer.

Flori Gabriela wants to become a pop singer and she hopes to go to high school in a town 14 miles away, but her family cannot afford to pay for it. A Romanian NGO has offered a scholarship to make this possible.
