“Talk to Al Jazeera” and “Ferguson Talks Politics” win 2015 Gracie Awards Presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation
NEW YORK – (May 19, 2015) – Al Jazeera America is pleased to announce that AJAM journalists Stephanie Sy and Jenifer Fenton will accept two prestigious Gracie Awards for the channel’s “Talk to Al Jazeera” interview with Gloria Steinem and the digital team’s multi-platform coverage of unrest over a police shooting in Ferguson, Missouri. The journalism awards, sponsored by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation, recognize exemplary programming created by, for and about women, and will be presented at the 40th Annual Gracies Awards Gala today, May 19 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.

Digital journalist Jamie Tarabay and photographer Matt Eich received a Gracie Award for Outstanding Original Online Programming- Audio for “Ferguson Talks Politics.” The award-winning piece features contributions from digital interactive producer Alex Newman, deputy photo editor Vaughn Wallace and online features editor Katherine Lanpher.
