Inside the rise of Germany’s new right wing

Germany received praise from around the world when German Chancellor Angela Merkel promised to welcome hundreds of thousands of people fleeing wars in the Middle East and elsewhere. But after the attacks in Paris and the arrival of over a million refugees into the country this year, there is a growing and increasingly violent backlash against Chancellor Merkel and the newly-arrived refugees. The backlash is being led by a New Right that is drawing supporters all the way from neo-Nazis to everyday Germans afraid that the massive influx of refugees will forever change their nation.
