Brittany Maynard’s widower pushes to expand medically assisted suicide

After his terminally ill wife Brittany Maynard, 29, died in November amid a public battle over medically assisted suicide, Dan Diaz promised to campaign for the legal "right to die with dignity" around the country. Maynard famously relocated to Oregon, one of several states where she could legally get medical help to end her life. Now, in their home state of California, state lawmakers seemed poised to pass a bill legalizing medically assisted suicide. In this America Tonight excerpt, Diaz tells Adam May about his wife's battle with an aggressive brain cancer, her campaign to manage her own death and her hopes that other terminally ill Americans will face an easier path ending their own lives.
