New Hampshire prison a ‘revolving door’ for heroin addicts

Even though New Hampshire has seen an alarming increase in heroin addiction, the state ranks 49th for access to treatment. As a result, the prison system has become one of the only treatment centers available in the state. The New Hampshire State Prison for Women is already over capacity, and because addicts rarely find treatment after being released, they often end up back behind bars. In this excerpt from America Tonight, inmate Joanne Kane says she sees someone she recognizes return to prison almost every day.
