Nearly a year after the death of unarmed teenager Michael Brown at the hands of a Ferguson, Missouri, police officer put the St. Louis suburb at the center of a national conversation on race and justice, much of the city’s leadership has been forced out or resigned. But Mayor James Knowles insists — even facing a recall effort — he’s staying put. In this excerpt from America Tonight, Lori Jane Gliha returns to Ferguson to hear his candid views on the state of Ferguson and its future.
