How the Black Lives Matter movement made it to Brazil

After leaving her native West Baltimore, aspiring journalist Nia Hampton found that black Brazilians in Salvador — a city of 3 million filled with African influence — face similar issues of police militarization and violence but don’t let excessive force or a high homicide rate interfere with their enjoyment of life.
