More child refugees are making the dangerous journey to Europe – alone

Just months ago, most of the refugees traveling through the border town of Gevgelija, Macedonia, were men. But the end of 2015 saw a rise in the number of families traveling with children and, increasingly, minors traveling alone. European officials worry that without guardians, minors will fall prey to human trafficking or other kinds of exploitation. In this America Tonight excerpt, Sheila MacVicar visits Macedonia and Germany, where she speaks to minors as well as those who are tasked with protecting them but are overwhelmed.
