The next concussion accessory for college football players?

This look could soon be seen on the sidelines of college football games someday soon.

Digital producer Timothy Bella traveled to Lincoln, Neb., in July for an upcoming report on the state of concussion safety in college football, and the technology that will be able to recognize whether a player can safely return to a game after a blow to the head.

Here, Derek Jochum, a sophomore psychology major at the University of Nebraska, participates in an experiment using an electrode-covered mesh cap, a tool that will allow football training staffs to identify within 10 minutes of a hard hit whether a player has suffered a concussion.

With college football season right around the corner, America Tonight will take you to the cornfields of Nebraska for what could be the future of concussion care in college football.
