Senate takes up Medicare reform bill

The US Senate returns from a two-week recess on Monday. The lawmakers’ first order of business is a bill aimed at reforming Medicare. The measure would overhaul Medicare’s fee structure and prevent a major pay cut to providers who treat Medicare patients. The bill overwhelmingly passed the House last month but is expected to encounter more resistance in the Senate.
