Cardinals hire Jen Welter, the first female NFL coach
Welter is believed to be the first female coach of any kind in the NFL. Previously, she became the first female coach in a men's professional football league when she was hired by the Texas Revolution of the Champions Indoor Football league as a linebackers and special teams coach. Welter also became the first female to play in a men's professional football league as a running back with the Revolution.
