The Death Valley Badwater Ultramarathon

The race starts in the Badwater Basin, 282 feet below sea level, in California's Death Valley and ends over 8,000 feet above sea level at the Whitney Portal on Mount Whitney. The temperatures during this race have been known to exceed 120 °F and competitors have just 48 hours to complete the grueling event.
