The trial of former Chad president Hissène Habré

Habré is accused of crimes against humanity, war crimes and torture is finally set to begin in Dakar, Senegal, on Monday. His trial sets an historic precedent because until now African leaders accused of war crimes have all been tried in international courts. The trial is expected to last three months, with about 100 witnesses and victims expected to testify. There is a chance Habré will not show up, but trial will go ahead without him.
