Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan calls peace talks ‘impossible’

The Turkish government has targeted the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, as a terrorist group along with ISIL. The pro-Kurdish opposition, the HDP, has called for a halt to the hostilities. The HDP won 80 seats in the Turkish parliament last month, joining the legislature for the first time.
