Just before Jameis Winston won the Heisman Trophy, he dominated headlines for accusations of sexual assault. Although no charges were filed, the incident put Winston with athletes like Kobe Bryant and Ben Roethlisberger who were accused of sexual violence but either weren’t charged, or had charges dropped. Jameis Winston, Florida State University's starting quarterback, was acquitted of rape charges in early December; almost a month to the day that his accuser says she was sexually assaulted. Shortly after the decision to not press charges, Winston won the Heisman Trophy, college football's most prestigious award.
