The ‘war on Christmas’

Is there a war on Christmas in America? Many claim “secular leftists” are out to ruin the holiday. But a quick Google search of this idea also yields lots of information disputing the claim as a myth. Meanwhile, other critics contend Christmas is being undermined by the hyper-commercialization of the holiday. So, is Santa and his reindeer under attack? If so, by whom, and more importantly, who’s winning?

In Texas, lawmakers filed a legislative blow in the war over Christmas with the "Merry Christmas Bill," which ensures that students and educators in public schools are allowed to discuss religious winter holidays. Governor Rick Perry signed the bill into law in June.
