On Thursday conservative media personality Glenn Beck asked his Twitter followers to publicize the cancellation notices and rate increases they received from health care providers as the Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly referred to as "Obamacare," prepares to go into effect.

Insurance companies began sending out notices in August to those whose personal coverage does not meet ACA standards. Hundreds of thousands of termination notices have been issued across several states thus far. Florida Blue has plans to terminate 80 percent of its individual insurance policies while Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia plans to terminate policies for about 45 percent of its customers. The cancellations come as the ACA requires the mandatory insurance benefits such as mental health treatment and maternity care.
