A South Dakota police chief is defending the actions of his officer who used a stun gun on an allegedly suicidal 8-year-old girl on October 4. According to the Pierre Police Chief Bob Grandpre, three police officers responded to a call about a suicidal girl who had stabbed herself in the leg and arrived to find her holding a knife to her chest. When the girl refused to put the knife down, one police officer decided to use a stun gun on her, with the prongs hitting her chest and stomach.
