Morning-after pill found to be ineffective for women over 176 pounds

The morning-after pill may be ineffective for the average American woman, according to findings from a research study reported by Mother Jones.

HRA Pharma, the European manufacturer of NorLevo, an emergency contraceptive pill that has the same chemical composition as American versions, including Plan B One-Step, will begin addingleaflet to its packages warning users that the pill is ineffective for women weighing more than 176 pounds, and begins losing effectiveness for those weighing 165 pounds or more. 

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the average American woman age 20 and older is 166.2 pounds. American manufacturers have yet to give similar warnings to its customers. 

Many online expressed concern that U.S. manufacturers  of the morning-after pill have not issued their own warnings after news of HRA Pharma's change in labeling policy:
