During the sit-in, some groups encouraged constituents to contact their Republican members of Congress and call on them to bring immigration reform to the table. A reform bill has already been approved by the Senate, but the House has yet to vote on the Senate bill.

The sit-in came at the end of a 31-day
organized by the immigration reform organization
. The group held a press conference in front of the Capitol building to celebrate the end of the fast and call on House Republicans to bring immigration reform to the House floor.
Democratic members of Congress attended the conference and posted messages of support.
