Transgender women receive a #HolidayHandUp

Many in the transgender community face acute harassment and discrimination, and the holidays can make the isolation worse. In an attempt to help transgender women in need during the Christmas season, one Twitter user (@metalmujer) created the hashtag #HolidayHandUp. While the hashtag caught flak for excluding trans men, it served as a platform for transgender women and allies to support each other during the holidays.
