About 30 immigrant detainees participated in a protest on Tuesday at the El Paso detention facility run by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), asking for their delayed immigration cases to be resolved and parole be granted for their asylum cases, according to sources with direct knowledge of the event.

Sources have told The Stream that the detainees convened before lunch around noon local time and staged a sit-in outside. They reportedly told guards that they plan to stay seated until their cases were resolved. The event lasted for about 30 minutes.
