A group affiliated with the hacktivist collective Anonymous pleaded guilty Thursday to accusations they disrupted the payment website PayPal in a December 2010 Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack.

The disruption, called "Operation Payback," was carried out to protest PayPal's suspension of transactions to the WikiLeaks website, which publishes secret material. The suspension came after the WikiLeaks website began publishing classified documents leaked by Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning, then known as Bradley Manning.
