Thanks to @iHollaback, victims of street harassment can hold harassers accountable in real-time w/ the new iPhone app http://nydn.us/14gh9sGChristine Quinn

Though Quinn has come out against 'stop and frisk,' her
relationship with Mayor Bloomberg and lack of action in her years as City Council Speaker has left some voters
confused about her stance.
How can Christine Quinn partner up with @iHollaback, when she actively supports Stop & Frisk, which is by definition street harassment?Elizabeth Plank
Christine Quinn's support for a Hollaback app while she stymies action against street harassment by cops really sums up her candidacy.Angus Johnston
Wait. HollaBack!'s latest initiative in NYC has the support of the Mayoral candidate who backed Stop & Frisk (Quinn)? #carceralfeminismsProteas & Magnolias
Others were still excited about the Hollaback! app, despite Quinn's involvement.
Photoset: I’m not a Quinn fan but this is an awesome new app she just helped release- Hollaback helps... http://tmblr.co/ZSifEysmP_ZHMikell Kober
@prisonculture Curious what you think. I've had good interactions with individual members of Hollaback! but the name Quinn makes me shudder.Liza
Some criticism was directed at Hollaback! for asking Quinn to back the app.
.@iHollaback So the candidate who supported stop and frisk (and racial profiling) for a decade launches your app... and that's a good thing?Aura Bogado
@aurabogado We share your concerns re: stop and frisk and racial profiling. The app was funded by the Women's Caucus of the Council in 2011.Hollaback!
.@iHollaback If you share my concern about racial profiling, why did you ask the lawmaker who's backed racial profiling to launch the app?Aura Bogado
@iHollaback "By gathering information in a coordinated way, the city will be able to better direct resources+Prison Culture
@iHollaback +and more effectively combat harassment." What "resources" do you think Christine Quinn means?Prison Culture
.@iHollaback The fact that you've partnered with Ms. Stop & Frisk undercuts any anti-criminalization message. Surely you see this...Prison Culture
Hollaback! insisted the app will not lead to racial profiling or increased "harassment" by police.
The apps were designed to allow the community to be able to tell their own stories, and to provide resources for folks seeking more info.Hollaback!
@aurabogado It also allows for racialized forms of harassment -- including harassment by police -- to be reported.Hollaback!
The new NYC apps only allow reporting to the NYC Council. Reporting to the NYPD still goes through 911. @mazzieHollaback!
