Six immigrant rights activists were arrested Wednesday night after chaining themselves to a fence at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Phoenix. They were protesting the deportation of undocumented citizens in the United States.

The demonstrators, undocumented youth known as DREAMers for their support of The Dream Act, organized the action as they continue to push for immigration reform. These DREAMers believe in a path to citizenship for those already in the U.S. as well as an end to "immigration raids and deportations." In the fiscal year of 2012, ICE "removed 409,849 individuals."
