From students to milkmen, Colombians have taken to the streets since August 19 to protest a plethora of problems. Among the grievances are high fuel prices, high food prices, free trade agreements that they say hurt farmers, and what is widely seen as the disruptive role of multinational agricultural corporations. Classes have been cancelled, and the police and military have had to clear protesters from major highways.

Across social media, Colombians are using the hashtags #ColombiaResiste (Colombia resists), #ParoNacional (National strike), #YoApoyoelParoAgrario (I support the agrarian strike), and #CacerolazoNacional (National noisemaking).
