Six students were arrested at a City University of New York (CUNY) fundraiser Tuesday afternoon after protesting the school's hiring of former CIA director David Petraeus. The Ad Hoc Committee Against the Militarization of CUNY, the organizers behind the protest, said that the arrests by New York City police were violent. According to demonstrators, the protest was meant "to let the administration know that war criminals cannot be hired." Petraeus, a four-star United States general, served as the commander of all coalition forces in Iraq.
