Every Friday night for generations, the cheerleaders of Kountze High School in Texas have displayed banners with religious messages at school football games. When the school district tried to stop them, the cheerleaders sued and won. But the district is now appealing the decision, and they recently received the backing of some prominent public policy organizations. The ACLU, Americans United for Separation of Church and State, and a coalition of religious groups filed an amicus brief with the Texas Court of Appeals on Thursday.
