Japan dolphin hunting receives international criticism

Conservation groups and animal protection activists are rallying on social media to pressure Japanese authorities to end the country's annual dolphin hunt in the town of Taiji. More than 250 bottlenose dolphins have been rounded up into the secluded Taiji cove, and await a lifetime of captivity or being killed for their meat. 

The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society has been monitoring the activities through a live stream and condemned the actions on Twitter:
