Many Atlanta residents are using social media to offer assistance after a snowstorm crippled the city and left thousands stranded at schools and stuck on the roads.

Life came to a crawl for many Atlantans Tuesday when several inches of snow fell on the nation's ninth largest city. Commuters reported spending up to 15 hours in standstill traffic while some students had to stay overnight at their school's gymnasium or on school buses.

About 791 accidents were reported, with no serious injuries or fatalities. One baby was delivered during the traffic jam.
