Health advocates mark 50th anniversary of surgeon general's smoking report

January 11 will mark the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Surgeon General's warning on the dangers that come from smoking cigarettes. Prior to the landmark 1964 report, more than 42 percent of American adults smoked -  many times freely in restaurants, offices and on airplanes.
