Members of San Francisco's largest city employee union staged a protest outside of Twitter's headquarters on Wednesday, calling for an end to the tax breaks the company receives from the city.
The protest, organized by Service Employees International Union 1021, occured as unions are negotiating a new contract with the city that could result in cuts to health care for city workers. Union members say they shouldn't be asked to make concessions in contract negotiations to help balance the city's budget while tech firms receive lucrative tax incentives to do business in San Francisco.
