School districts across country cope with consequences of brutal winter

Thursday marked the official start of spring, but school districts across the U.S. are still grappling with the consequences of a long winter season.

The many snow days that resulted from inclement weather have school districts scurrying to alter their academic calendars in order to avoid having students in classrooms deep into the summer months.

Here are how six states are trying to address the issue:
