Birmingham food truck law blocks church from feeding homeless

A church in the Birmingham, Ala. metropolitan area says the city's recently enacted food truck regulations are preventing them from giving food to the homeless.

Minister Rick Wood of The Lords House of Prayer told WJSU that he was approached by police inside a local park in Birmingham while delivering hot meals to the homeless. He was ordered to stop because he didn't have a permit or an official food truck registered with the city.

“This makes me so mad. These people are hungry; they’re starving," he said. "They need help from people. They can’t afford to buy something from a food truck.”
