Iran and six world powers signed a nuclear agreement on Tuesday, ending more than a decade of diplomatic efforts to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons. While supporters say the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will make for a safer Middle East and help stabilize the region, opponents argue it will embolden Tehran and allow for quicker development of nuclear weapons.

With the international community debating the JCPOA’s merits, the U.S. Congress is set to begin its 60-day review of the agreement prior to voting on it.
