A. Van Jordan is the author of four collections: Rise, M-A-C-N-O-L-I-A, Quantum Lyrics, and The Cineaste. He has been awarded a Whiting Writers Award, an Anisfield-Wolf Book Award, a Pushcart Prize, and has been included in The Best American Poetry Anthology 2013. He is a recipient of a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, and a United States Artists Williams Fellowship. He is an English Professor at the University of Michigan, and teaches in the MFA Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College.
