Egyptian-American Ashraf Khalil is a graduate of Indiana University. His book, Liberation Square: Inside the Egyptian Revolution and the Rebirth of a Nation, was published in 2012.
He has covered the Middle East for the past 15 years, and his work has appeared in Time, Foreign Policy, Rolling Stone Middle East and the Economist. He is a former Los Angeles Times correspondent in Baghdad and Jerusalem, and a former editor-in-chief of the Cairo Times weekly newsmagazine.
