Miguel Tinker Salas is professor of Latin American history at Pomona College. His research includes work on the history of contemporary Venezuela and Mexico. He is the author of “Venezuela, What Everyone Needs to Know” and “The Enduring Legacy: Oil, Culture and Society in Venezuela.”
