Photographing Camelot: The Kennedys through Stanley Tretick's lens
Photojournalist Stanley Tretick (1921-1999) became friends with John F. Kennedy while he covered Kennedy's 1960 presidential campaign. During the next three years, Tretick was present at Kennedy's official functions and state visits, and also witnessed intimate Kennedy family moments featuring Kennedy, his wife Jacqueline, and their two young children, Caroline and John Jr. Best-selling biographer Kitty Kelley, who wrote about the Kennedys and was a friend of Tretick, compiled the photographer’s work into a book, "Capturing Camelot: Stanley Tretick's Iconic Images of the Kennedys," which was published in 2012.
