Photos: 'CaveDigger' documentary chronicles Ra Paulette's underground art
Ra Paulette has been carving elaborate caves out of sandstone in northern New Mexico for more than 25 years. He relies on a technique he calls the "dance of digging" to shape caverns out of hills, carrying a wheelbarrow on his back to the remote sites where he works alone.
Director Jeffrey Karoff captured Paulette's process in the film "CaveDigger," which is nominated for a 2014 Academy Award for Best Documentary Short.
Learn more tonight when Karoff joins Consider This host Antonio Mora to discuss the film. Tune in to Al Jazeera America at 10 ET/7 PT.
