Faces of the long-term unemployed

The Senate voted today to begin debate on extending emergency unemployment benefits by three months. These benefits expired in late December for about 1.3 million Americans who have been actively looking for work without success for 27 weeks or longer. The benefits extension bill has to be considered next by the House of Representatives.
