2016 Short Doc Submission Guidelines

Do you have an important story that needs to be heard or capture an aspect of humanity that the world must see?

• Soon to launch on Al Jazeera America, a short web-only documentary series.
• AJAM is seeking to acquire 5 finished shorts that inspire, enrage, enlighten and educate.
• Looking for compelling, seldom-heard voices and proactive viewpoints.
• Seeking stories from emerging storytellers as well as seasoned filmmakers.
• Five shorts to be selected by March 1, 2016 for the first “AJAM Presents DigiDocs” 2016 series.

• Submissions should be 6 minutes or less.Longer may be considered, but require cutdowns.
• Films should be unique, finished works that illuminate critical issues of our times.
• We accept online screeners via Vimeo or YouTube. We do not accept DVD screeners.
• Seeking films produced with the resolution of 720p or 1080i. Ideal frame rate is 29.97fps.
• Send submissions by February 15, 2016 to digidocs@aljazeera.net.
• Filmmaker responsible for accuracy of all information contained.
• Upon request, filmmaker shall provide all personal, location and material releases.
• Selections shall require online exclusivity for 90 days and shall be non-exclusive thereafter.
• Filmmaker must sign and agree to the attached agreement (“Exhibit A”) upon submission.
