One Day in Charkh

Sunday, Nov. 22, 9 pm ET, 'Fault Lines' investigates a joint US-Afghan military operation during which 15 civilians died

The United States has spent tens of billions of dollars arming and training the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF). With the end of NATO combat operations in Afghanistan, the security of the country and its people has been left primarily in the hands of the ANSF.

But in August 2014, 15 civilians were killed during a joint U.S.-Afghan special forces operation in the Charkh District, south of Kabul.

In this exclusive report, Fault Lines conducted a year-long investigation to piece together what happened that day—gathering eyewitness testimony detailing abuses by Afghan forces and raising questions about who ultimately is to blame.
