Researchers at the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest University School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences developed the STAR ratings system to measure the protective ability of different brands of football helmets. 

University of Nebraska-Lincoln

The Center for Brain, Biology, and Behavior (CB3), located in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Memorial Stadium, is in the process of developing a ten-minute sideline test to check for concussions in football players.
