The United Nations is predicting a major food crisis in West Africa if the Ebola outbreak continues to grow at the current rate. From quarantined farms to abandoned businesses, it’s clear that the virus is not only impacting the health of West African nations. We examine the impact of the virus on farmers, businesses and jobs, as well as enhanced worries over food security in the region, and what’s being done to address them. We also discuss the impact of fear around Ebola on the daily lives of Africans living in America, and how schools and communities should appropriately respond.
